Infinitas Course Information
We are proud to run our Mini-implant courses with Richard Cousley.
Richard Cousley has a proven track record of clinical excellence and technique innovation, including his design of the Infinitas Mini-implant System, He is recognised as the UK expert in orthodontic bone anchorage, has lectured throughout the UK, and in Europe and the USA, and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers. In 2012 he will publish a major new orthodontic textbook on the practical aspects of Mini-implant usage.
We currently run three types of courses:
Course 1: A full day Introductory course intended to fully equip both orthodontic trainees and orthodontists to get started with mini-implant anchorage. The course features analyses of the background and fundamental aspects of mini-implant techniques, details on the Infinitas system, a description of treatment biomechanics for common clinical scenarios; and a hands-on practical session on manual insertion techniques.
Course 2: A full day Hybrid (half Introductory and half Advanced) course aiming to both update and expand the clinical repertoire of those orthodontists with some mini-implant experience (including the use of other systems). The hybrid course summarises the latest thinking and evidence on mini-implant anchorage, and introduces advanced techniques, especially involving palatal insertion sites. There are two practical sessions covering both buccal and palatal insertion techniques.
Course 3: A half day Advanced course aimed at experienced mini-implant users. It provides an update on the latest mini-implant biomechanics, and detailed instruction on advanced mini-implant techniques (such as molar intrusion and distalisation), especially involving palatal anchorage sites. The practical session is on palatal insertion and biomechanical details.
